Are You Down for The Challenge? #40acts

As most of you might know, I did the 40 acts challenge around this time last year and I held lent meet-ups for 7 Saturdays as part of it which was in order to keep our minds stayed on the reason for this season and the pivotal role it plays in our Christian faith.

This year, unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of time to host a meet-up but I will definitely be taking part in the 40 acts challenge and I’m encouraging you all to do the same!

40 acts basically encourages us to do acts of generosity rather than “giving something up” for Lent, making it a more mindful sacrifice. It’s supposed to mirror the highest form of generosity and love shown by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ when He gave up his life for us so generously just so that we can be better off. The challenges really help you form the habit of generosity and increasingly open your heart and hands to others around you. See 40acts 2015 for the challenges done last year and check out here for a sneak peek of this year’s challenges, to give you an idea of how this works.

I had so much fun last year and even got one of my acts featured on the 40acts instagram page. My meet-ups were also pretty great and I got to connect with people more than I usually would have been able to. 40 acts, most importantly, really shaped some of my core values and really helped me understand what it means when the Bible tells us that it is more blessed to give than it is to receive (Acts 20:35).

If you want to find out more information about getting involved, click here.

When you sign up, ’cause I know you guys aren’t the ones to shy away from challenges 😉 , be sure to share a picture or a status update on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and tag @thestephway on any of the platforms along with the relevant hashtags (see below) so that 40acts knows what you’re up to. It’ll be really cool to see how we are all getting on. I’ll also try to load daily updates on how mine is going and by God’s grace, we will have collectively been a blessing to people all over.

Yay for community spirit!! :D.

40 days, 40 reflections, 40 acts of generosity. Join the #40acts challenge for #Lent and let’s start a movement. Logo-2-white-on-red
